Super Seven

Seven minerals grown together in one quartz — every bead its own small landscape.

Super Seven bracelet showing violet, smoky and gold inclusions — AuraLune Crystal

Also known as Melody Stone or Sacred Seven, Super Seven is a rare quartz holding seven distinct minerals in a single stone. Here is what is inside it, how to judge it, and how to look after it.

What It Is

Super Seven is a form of quartz first found in Espírito Santo, Brazil, in the 1970s. What makes it extraordinary is not one mineral but seven, occurring together in the same stone:

  • Clear quartz — the transparent base that carries the rest
  • Amethyst — soft purple zones
  • Smoky quartz — warm grey to brown veils
  • Cacoxenite — golden-brown inclusions
  • Goethite — fine black needles
  • Lepidocrocite — reddish flashes
  • Rutile — slender golden threads

Where lepidocrocite dominates, the stone takes on a soft red blush — the look behind Strawberry Super 7. At the other end of the range, dense inclusions can make a bead read almost black until the light catches it.

How to Recognise Quality

  1. Visible variety

The point of Super Seven is the mix. You should see clear evidence of several minerals across the strand — purple zones, golden threads, dark needles. Beads that are uniformly purple or uniformly smoky may not be genuine.

  2. Inclusion density

Fine pieces are rich with inclusions that fill each bead. Lower grades look washed out, mostly clear with only sparse flecks.

  3. Harmony without uniformity

The beads should feel balanced in size and overall tone, yet each one should be distinct inside. If every bead looks identical, be cautious.

  4. Clarity of the base

Hold it to natural light. The clear quartz should be transparent enough to let the inclusions glow rather than sit flat.

In the Crystal Tradition

Super Seven is often described as one of the most complete stones, because it holds seven minerals in one:

  • Balance — many wearers turn to it for overall equilibrium rather than one narrow quality.
  • Grounding and uplifting at once — smoky quartz and goethite anchor; amethyst and lepidocrocite lift.
  • Clarity — the clear quartz base is associated with focus and intention.
  • Growth — often worn through transitions and seasons of personal change.

Wearing & Pairing

Because the stone is already so visually rich, Super Seven suits a minimal approach — a single bracelet on bare skin, nothing competing.

If you do stack, choose quiet companions such as clear quartz or moonstone, which complement its depth rather than compete with it.

Care

Quartz is hard at 7 Mohs, but the inclusions inside can be more sensitive than the stone around them.

  • Keep it out of prolonged direct sunlight — amethyst zones can fade.
  • Take it off for showering, swimming and exercise.
  • Perfume and lotion first — bracelet last.
  • Store in a soft pouch to protect the polish.

Super Seven is not a quiet stone. It carries the visible record of seven minerals coming together — a stone that does not ask to be matched, only to be worn with attention.
