Uruguayan Amethyst

We hand-select each bead in Artigas for saturation and clarity. Amethyst is the violet variety of quartz, its colour drawn from traces of iron; Uruguayan material is prized as the deepest of all, holding a velvety royal purple with occasional red flashes where Brazilian amethyst tends paler. These 13 to 14mm+ beads show that colour at full weight.

In the crystal tradition, amethyst is associated with a calm, clear mind, intuition and meditation — its name comes from an old Greek word for sobriety, and it has been worn for steadiness across cultures for centuries. Many keep it close for quiet focus and the simple pleasure of an extraordinary purple.

Made to a 16cm inner measurement on high-elastic cord, in three styles that differ only in bead size and price: Style A (14mm+, the boldest and most saturated), Style B (13.5mm+, a rich middle ground), and Style C (13mm+, the most wearable everyday scale). Because the stone is natural, no two are identical. To find your size, wrap a soft tape measure or a strip of paper around the fullest part of your wrist, then add roughly 1–1.5cm for a comfortable fit. Crystal is durable, but not indestructible. Keep amethyst out of prolonged direct sunlight, which can fade its colour over time. Remove your bracelet before showering, swimming, or sleeping, and keep it away from perfume, lotion, and direct heat. Wipe clean with a soft, dry cloth, and lay it flat to rest rather than stretching it over a hook — this protects the elastic cord and keeps the beads sitting evenly.
